The European Community in Computational Methods in Applied Sciences (ECCOMAS) is an organization established in 1992. It is a scientific organization that brings together European associations with a common interest in the theory, application and development of computational methods in technology and applied sciences.
The key event run by ECCOMAS is the European Congress that is organized every four-year cycle with attendance from all around the globe. The event provides the platform for discussion and presentation on advances in scientific computing. Attracting notable scientists, engineers, and participants numbering about 5000, ECCOMAS Congress focuses on scientific development, basic methodologies, and industrial applications of computational mechanics.
On ECCOMAS
To celebrate the 25 years of ECCOMAS existence, the 2018 edition of ECCOMAS congress comes as a joint-host of the 6th ECCM (European Conference on Computational Mechanics) and the 7th ECFD (European Conference on Computational Fluid Dynamics) in Glasgow, the United Kingdom between 11 to 15 July 2018.
The congress also tagged ECCM – ECFD 2018 represents acronyms of the two major affiliates of ECCOMAS.
ECCM
ECCM (European Conference on computational mechanics) is an ECCOMAS organized conference that focuses on structures, solids, and coupled problems. The Congress was previously held in Munich in 1999, Cracow in 2001, Lisbon in 2006 and Paris in 2012
ECFD
ECFD (European conference on computational Fluid dynamics) is an ECCOMAS congress devoted to fluid dynamics. It was previously hosted in Stuttgart in 1994, Athens in 1998, Swansea in 2001, Egmond aan Zee in 2006 and Lisbon in 2010.
Attracting notable scientists, engineers, and participants numbering about 5000, ECCOMAS Congress focuses on scientific development, basic methodologies, and industrial applications of computational mechanics.
